A routine immediately organizes and structures my day and I feel in control of my day.

With no routine and no structure, life becomes directionless and messy naturally, which is the case for most of us.

Just creating a simple daily routine can also work wonders. Its okay to be flexible.

2. They follow a daily to-do list

All organized people have a habit of writing a daily to-do list which they write down the previous day, or at the beginning of each day.

And they keep this to-do list close to them which they can easily see.

3. They schedule tasks to be organized

And the other incredible habit of organized people is that they don’t just set down things to do on their to-do list, but schedule it too.

This way they don’t just leave it upto chance, but actually make sure they do it by simply setting a schedule for it.

If something doesn’t fit in their schedule, they delegate or keep it for another day.

All organized people know that the start of new month is very important and so they utilize it to plan their month ahead.

They set their monthly goals based on their yealy vision and do many other things to keep everything in check and organized.

For my day to day organization, I use a planner, a simple physical to-do list and my notebook. I tried going digital, but it didn’t work well for me.

My boyfriend is the most organized person I know, and he always says, ‘Every thing has a place, and every place has a thing’.

He keeps things at their rightful place and so he never has to go through the trouble of finding things they he needs it.

Just having a home for everything is not enough if everytime you use it, you forget to keep it in its right place.

As I said, my boyfriend is one of the most organized person I know, and its amazing how he keeps things at its rightful place right away.

Most of the times we say we’ll keep it later even though it just takes 2-3 minutes of our time, but still we feel lazy.

But actually by keeping things at its rightful place, we are actually saving more time for the future and reducing the hassle and extra work.

Organized people know that mess is the main thing that makes us feel unorganized. They know that physical mess creates mental mess and mental mess influences physical mess.

So they clean the mess as they go.

If they use the kitchen, after using it, they clean it up and don’t wait for later.

After using their desk, they tidy it up instantly.

After eating, they clean the table instantly.

This not only keeps them organized, but also saves their time.

Multitasking is the key to disorganization and a messy mind. Organized people don’t multitask and do one thing at a time.

Lastly, organized people don’t procrastinate and put off things for later. They follow the practice of 2 minute rule: If it takes less than 2 minutes, then do it immediately, otherwise schedule it or delegate it.

The things that they do put off immediately goes to their to-do list, or list of pending things to do, and schedule when it should get done.
